I have been a fan of Madfinger Games’ creations for some time. The Shadowgun series has been a staple of shooter fans’ favorites for many years. When I saw the Shadowgun Legends icon appear quietly and without mention during the Apple WWDC keynote in 2017, I was intrigued to say the least. Was it a mistake? Was it going to happen? I could only hope for the latter. Well, it has come to pass and Shadowgun Legends is now on the Apple TV 4K and it is everything you could hope for and more!

The Afterpulse was my number one shooter for the Apple TV and it’s also my number one game on the system itself. Third person action that is about as console-like as you’ll ever get. Absolutely fantastic. Here’s my review and if you’re into shooters and you have not tried The Afterpulse yet, quit reading this and start your download now! Then come back to read the rest of this. ;)

The Asphalt franchise has been around for quite some time and it was only natural that some iteration of the series would end up on the Apple TV. All of us Apple TV gamers should rejoice in the fact that Asphalt 8 is available on the platform. It’s an absolutely fantastic arcade racing game with so much content, it will make your head spin and your hands hurt. Also, GameLoft keeps the game updated and interchangeable between Apple devices. Here’s my review of Asphalt 8: Airborne for the Apple TV.

Modern Combat 5 has been around the mobile scene for a very long time. You may ask yourself….. Has it stood the test of time? Heck yes! Not only is the game still a staple of graphical pleasure on the Apple TV, it looks and runs like a new game on the Apple TV 4K. MC5 has many positive attributes and some negative that were created by the developer themselves. I’ll explain it all in this review. ;)

Yes, Infinite Tanks is not a new Apple TV game release, but it’s a game deserving of a review. There’s a certain satisfaction to building your own customized tank complete with a crazy colorful camouflaged skin. Afterwards, you can take your custom tank into a campaign mission or a multiplayer match and create enough beautifully animated chaos to send any normal game console player to their local electronics store to buy up the last Apple TV 4K with a wanting to get in on the action.

The Sky Gamblers series has been around a while in the mobile gaming universe. Recently, the series was released for the Apple TV in the way of it’s racing game, Sky Gamblers Races. Though this effort was well done, it was not the dogfighting perfection I personally wanted from Atypical Games. Finally, they have released a proper air warfare game for the Apple TV. Sky Gamblers: Infinite Jets is a great addition to the growing number of flight sim/fighter games showing up on our beloved gaming device.

The Apple TV has some great First and Third person shooters and I want to share my opinion of which ones are in my top 5. If you have played them and you don’t agree… Too bad. Write your own top 5 list! Lol! Just kidding. Again this is just my opinion. If you have not played these games, you might want to check out some of them.

Mythology has been a favorite subject of mine since I was a kid in school in the early 80’s. Gods of Rome has been out for iOS for a while, but was just recently released on the Apple TV. I wanted to play the game on my iPad Pro, but there was no controller support and I just cannot use touchscreen controls, so when it was released for Apple TV with controller support, I immediately grabbed my Nimbus controller and got to work.
